Experience the 16th Annual Chautauqua Lake Erie Art Trail on Labor Day Weekend

The 16th annual Art Trail is just around the corner, and it promises to be a weekend filled with creativity, inspiration, and beautiful artwork. This year’s Trail features 29 North Shore Arts Alliance artist members showcasing a diverse range of art, from paintings to textiles, pottery to sculptures, and photography to jewelry.

Starting at the north end of the map in Fredonia, visitors can explore the studios of talented artists like Tom Annear, Tom Janik, Wally Latimer, and Marcia Merrins. Each artist brings their unique style and medium to the Trail, offering a glimpse into their creative process and inspiration.

As you continue along the Trail, you’ll discover more hidden gems like the Portage Hill Art Gallery in Westfield, Reno Pottery in Dewittville, and the LMNOP Gallery in Sherman. Each stop offers a different perspective on art, from functional porcelain pottery to watercolor illustrations to modern mixed media.

In Jamestown, four locations will showcase the works of highly skilled artists like Leslie Calimeri, Katherine Kepner, Joe Grice, and Susan Gutierrez. From wildlife illustrations to oil and acrylic paintings, visitors will be treated to a wide range of artistic expressions.

One of the highlights of this year’s Art Trail is the chance to win one of eight gift certificates redeemable with any of the artists on the Trail. By picking up a passport card at your first stop and collecting unique stamps at each location, you can enter to win a $100 gift certificate. It’s a fun way to engage with the art and support the local art community.

The Art Trail is made possible through funding from Arts Services Inc’s Creative Impact Fund, supported by the NYS Legislature and the Office of the Governor. It’s a free event that takes place rain or shine, so mark your calendar for Labor Day weekend and come out to support our local artists.

Whether you’re a seasoned art enthusiast or just looking for a fun weekend activity, the Art Trail offers something for everyone. So grab your passport card, hit the road, and immerse yourself in the beauty and creativity of Chautauqua County’s vibrant art scene. Hope to see you there!
