Upcoming Meeting of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee: September 24-26, 2024

Are you interested in cultural property and the preservation of heritage items? If so, you’ll want to mark your calendar for the upcoming meeting of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee on September 24-26, 2024. This committee will be reviewing new requests for cultural property import restrictions from Lebanon and Mongolia, as well as considering the extension of the cultural property agreement with El Salvador.

The State Department follows the Convention on Cultural Property Implementation Act (CPIA) when evaluating these agreements and restrictions. If you’re passionate about protecting cultural heritage, you have the opportunity to provide your input on these important decisions.

You can submit written comments in advance of the meeting or register to speak during the virtual open session on September 24, 2024. If you choose to speak, you’ll have up to five minutes to share your thoughts with the Committee.

Even if you just want to observe the meeting, you can do so through Zoom without pre-registering. However, if you require any accommodations, be sure to reach out to the committee in advance.
